Artist's Description

I was walking one day in a municipal park when I noticed some people busily at work inside a garage that belongs to the city. As I walked I couldn't help but notice what appeared to be potter's wheels. On finishing my walk I went over to see what was going on and learned that pottery lessons were being offered. I asked the instructor and the participants if they would mind me coming back the following week to photograph them as they made their bowls. They were all willing. This is the instructor shaping a bowl. which made be think of Isaiah 64:8;
"O LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand."

Hello and welcome! Thank you for taking the time to browse my photography. I am based in northwestern Pennsylvania surrounded by a large Amish community. I am a long-time photographer. My introduction to photography was with a 35mm Minolta SRT 101 SLR in the early 1970s. I fell in love with the work of Ansel Adams and wanted to do mostly black-and-white photography. When my wife and I started a family I fell away from photography and gave up film and photo development along with my darkroom. Now that I am back. I have bought three Canon dSLR cameras over the years. My first was a Canon EOS T3i and then I upgraded to a 70D. In 2022 I learned that Canon was doing away with its EOS line of cameras, so I upgraded to a 90D. My favorite subjects...
