I saw these growing along a rural road. I had never seen one before. After taking picture of them I searched the Internet to see if I could learn what this beautiful wildflower was. I was surprised when I found out that such a lovely delicate flower like this had such a gory name. Well, the sap or fluid from the stems is red like blood and evidently good for a dye.

My introduction to photography was with a 35mm Minolta SRT 101 SLR in the early 1970s.
