Actually, they are Calynopsis or Calceolaria, also called lady's purse, slipper flower, and pocketbook flower, or slipperwort, a genus of plants in the family Calceolariaceae. Whenever I come across a flower that I don't know what it is, I call it a begonia.
This was one of the flowers that returned with my wife from her recent flower shopping trip. We potted these and they reside on our porch to enjoy. It's a joke between my wife and me when I don't know what kind of flower I am looking at. After I posted the photo I went out and looked at the tag that came with them.

My introduction to photography was with a 35mm Minolta SRT 101 SLR in the early 1970s. I fell in love with the work of Ansel Adams and wanted to do mostly black-and-white photography. When my wife and I started a family I fell away from photography and gave up film and photo development along with my darkroom. Now that I am back. I have bought three Canon dSLR cameras over the years. My first was a Canon EOS T3i and then I upgraded to a 70D.
